This particular photo editing app allows you to combine two different photos into one (while still allowing you to edit over each layer), add shapes, gradients, filters, tints, and more, and completely change and edit your photography to make it fit perfectly to your aesthetic. You can even mask and cut off certain areas of the photo, giving you more creative control over your final image. Similar to other photo editing apps, you can also adjust contrast, color, saturation level, definition, and so much more.
There is also an 'Auto' option for each of these settings. I threw the app a variety of different photos: an awkward selfie, a slightly overexposed landscape, a closeup of a goat's face. For a good well-lit photo, the Auto settings barely change anything (as one would expect). But for a photo needing a little love, in every case I tried, simply tapping the Auto buttons in Adjustments made noticeable improvements to the images. And next to the Adjustments header at the top of this menu, you can tap Add to reveal even more settings you can adjust, like sharpen, noise reduction, white balance, and levels. You can hide or expose these different settings as you choose. As I mentioned, iCloud is a key part of the Photos experience.

Which is pretty much what I use it for. It's also great for making an arty photo look more. The filters are rad, and the app is super easy to use! My only complaint would be, if you are adding text to anything, once you settle on your font and all that stuff and hit the 'apply' option the font no longer looks as sharp as it did when editing it. Sure you can hit the sharpen function, but if you already used that function, your photo may start to look grainy or pixelated, being a spiteful arty jerk, this keeps me from giving this otherwise outstanding app a 5 star rating.
Everything you do can be undone thanks to nondestructive auto-saving. The Liquify feature is just outrageous, allowing you to manipulate your images by dragging the cursor around.
IDG Select a theme and then click on the Create Book button on the upper right of the app. The Photos app will create a project and automatically places the photos in the book. When it is done, a new project will appear in the Projects > My Projects section in the left column. The main window shows the pages of the book. Next page: Editing your photo book.
